I was looking back over when I started this plan to get back up to 5K and I realized I started this seemingly eight week plan in March. That’s well over eight weeks ago. I got stalled at week 3. That was when end of semester grading started, then when I felt comfortable leveling up, we went to Cancun. Then Chicago. So I was glad I pushed it last week and I am glad I leveled up today. Today’s intervals were 10 mins run/2 mins recover repeat 3xs. I did need to walk during the last interval, but I don’t feel bad about that. I intentionally went when it would be hot to work on my weather endurance, but I also changed my running path to a more shady area. Feeling good about what I accomplished. But I am starving.

This is tough. To be a runner— to fuel for a run— carbs are necessary. However, I have found as an older woman that carbs and me don’t always get along. When it come to losing weight, I am most successful when I go sugar and carb free. However, it‘s not sustainable. I have always been an advocate for WW. When I am flowing the rules, I have tremendous success. However, sometimes I become fixated on the numbers and other times I flat out cheat. I guess I am just doing the best I can. I am trying to avoid white flower and sugar, but allow fruits, whole grains, and potatoes. I am avoiding hard alcohol but allowing wine.

The point is not to lose weight, but I know losing fat will allow me to get faster. All in all, the plan is to not be so hard on myself. It’s the 4th of July. I can have some rose and a hot dog! But I can’t binge on hot dogs and rose.

When I woke this morning I had an achy hip and a pinched neck. Like bad. REST DAY!! Except I wouldn’t be able to rest until I resolved all my aches and pains. I am not new to yoga nor am I advanced in any way. But over the years I have accumulated a good number of yoga props and supports. This morning, I used them all. Strap

Blanket. I didn’t follow a specific sequence but a combo of sequences. The one I would probably say I referenced was one from TheRemoteYogi.com for Throat Chakra. I have many of their sequences pinned to my FatBottomedYogi board on Pinterest. I was really striving for that good pop. You know when your back pops and you feel that glorious release? I think I wanted it too much though. My hips feel better, the pinched neck is looser. But I still want that pop!

I’ll likely been searching for Chirp Wheel offers and discounts for the rest of the day.
