How to determine your grade

You may have noticed changes on the Canvas site, specifically how you view your grades. I have changed all the letter grades to points value grades because I was concerned that Canvas was not accurately reporting the correct letter grade for what you've earned in this class, specifically now that many of you have submitted revisions. Canvas might not know how to calculate the new grade totals in the grand scheme of what we have accomplished this semester.

But we don't need Canvas to do the math for us. We can do the math ourselves.

Over the course of this semester, you had the potential to earn 1,000 points (or technically 1,020 points). I made for you a grade calculation sheet. Go to Canvas and write down the points you have received for each assignment.

800 - The Wix/ePortfolio

100 - Participation Projects

120 - Twitter

[10 - Extra Credit (If you completed it)]

Add your totals in each of these areas, divide by 1000, and you have your grade.

According to the requirements set by the State of Florida, College Level Writing students must make at least a C- or higher. Otherwise you have to repeat ENC2135. A C- is 70-72.

If you have any questions regarding this, you can contact me via Google Hangouts.

Note: You are only awarded Wix points for items which appear on the Wix page. If you "forget" to post something on your Wix page, you will not receive the points for it, even if the points were already counted on Canvas.

When I begin grading Wix/ePortfolios, I will mute most of the assignments where you cannot see your points anymore. However, I will not be grading them until after Dec. 8.
