Never use Canvas before?

No Problem!

You are not alone

Canvas is a new system at FSU. It is new not only for students, but for teachers as well. But it is an easy system to use and to navigate. When you go to our course page, you will see on the right, a calendar. On that calendar are all the assignments and due dates for the remainder of the semester. Make sure you pay close attention to that.

On the left hand side, you will see links to the class syllabus, your grades, assignments, collaborations and more.

If you get stuck, do not immediately email me.

  • First: Are you using the right browser. Canvas does not work well with Internet Explorer. In fact, it kinda hates it. Use either Firefox or Chrome. If you do not have these Internet Browsers already on your computer, I would suggest downloading one or both of them. They are free.

  • Next: Have you checked your Twitter feed? It is very possible one of your classmates has already asked this question and had it answered. If no one has, be the first to ask. Add @bbradley2135 to the tweet, and I will receive a notifications. Don't DM me.

  • Still no answer? Google it. Canvas is a program used at many different universities and it is possible another student at another university has encountered the same problem. Also, Canvas support is very helpful. They will walk you through many issues.

  • Finally, you are still having issues, email me and let me know. I will do my best to help you out.

  • NOTE: Technological issues are no excuse for missing a deadlines. You should factor in time in the event of tech issues.
